Artist Talk: Wednesday, September 16 | 7:30 PM in·ter·mis·sion brings together works created at different moments, placing side by side reflections on family, body and time. The exhibition creates a dialogue between ongoing memory and lived present, between relationships shaped over years and a quiet, intimate observation of the body. The term ‘intermission’ refers here to a state of transition. Not as a pause, but as a space in which life continues to take shape. It is a moment where past and present coexist without clear hierarchy, allowing a renewed view of personal change. Ephraim Wasse, a BAMAH Visiting Artist, is a multidisciplinary artist, photographer, curator and educator born in Israel to parents who immigrated from Ethiopia in 1984. Works are for sale. We usually think of forgiveness as having a clean slate - what’s done is done, but we can move forward. Judaism offers a far more radical idea. Yom Kippur holds the possibility not only of being forgiven for our mistakes, but of transforming what those mistakes mean. Through the counterintuitive power of teshuvah, the past itself can be reinterpreted. We’ll explore how our worst moments don’t necessarily have to remain our greatest regrets, and how Yom Kippur gives us the power to turn failure into something meaningful.

The Women’s Support Group is for women who want to learn and support about infertility. Chelby Mendell and Dana Boyko, LCSW’s will facilitate the meeting. The group is online only.

Meet in the Administrative Parking lot and we will walk over to the Bayou together for Tashlich to cast our breadcrumbs into the bayou. Also, we will have treats and a special shofar blowing at the Bayou!

One dozen Roses purchased for Seven Acres and The Medallion residents will be delivered in vases. Roses purchased for yourself, a loved one or a friend will be wrapped with filler and greenery and available for pickup 12:30 pm to 3 p.m., Friday Sept. 11, 2026 – in the circle driveway in front of Seven Acres opposite the flagpole, 6200 N. Braeswood Blvd.(* Thursday morning Sept. 10, volunteers will sort and prepare the Roses and that evening they will sort the orders.) The deadline to place orders is Monday, Sept. 7, 2026.
